He stated that the Islamic Republic is using social media as a tool to recruit individuals, with connections that often begin with seemingly harmless tasks, ultimately leading to dangerous security actions.According to the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, this security official highlighted recent cases involving the detention of Haredi youths. He noted, ‘Initially, Israelis who engage with Iranian operatives undertake missions they perceive as harmless, such as photographing streets or installing signs. However, this process gradually escalates into serious and perilous security tasks.’Emphasizing the need for heightened awareness within the Haredi community, he added, ‘Raising the level of vigilance is essential to eradicate this phenomenon, and young people must understand that such connections can completely ruin their lives.’ This senior security official stressed that contact with Iranian agents constitutes a serious security crime.He further asserted that individuals accused in these cases will remain in security custody until the judicial process is complete.
