Richard Haass: Trump’s Concerns Over Potential Conflict with Iran

Richard Haass the former President of the Council on Foreign Relations has expressed that President Trump is apprehensive about the repercussions of a military confrontation with Iran. He notes that Israel is eager to collaborate with the United States or potentially act independently to target Iran’s ballistic missile stockpiles.

However Trump appears to be politically motivated to avoid a protracted conflict with Iran recognizing that in such a scenario Iran’s resilience may outlast that of the United States. A costly humiliation could ultimately await America if military actions were to be initiated.

Haass emphasizes that there is no justification for the United States to engage in military action against Iran asserting that the truth remains clear and undeniable.
