Global Call for Human Rights Adherence Amid Ongoing Conflicts

The President of the United Nations General Assembly emphasized the universal obligation to uphold human rights across all regions including Gaza and the occupied territories. In her address at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva Annalena Baerbock stated the necessity of striving for peace daily even in the darkest moments not just in Ukraine but around the globe.

Baerbock called for an immediate unconditional and comprehensive ceasefire in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. She asserted that this war must ultimately come to an end and any peace agreement should be grounded in international law and General Assembly resolutions.

She urged nations to defend human rights highlighting that these rights are indivisible. Baerbock requested that countries not only respect human rights in Geneva but also extend this commitment to other regions including Gaza the occupied territories Sudan Ukraine and Myanmar.
