According to a report from the International News Agency, Deputy Spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, Tommy Pigott, stated today that Rubio’s visit to Israel is scheduled for March 2-3, 2026.

During this visit, Rubio will engage in discussions surrounding a range of regional priorities, particularly focusing on Iran, Lebanon, and ongoing efforts to implement the 20-point peace plan proposed by former President Donald Trump for Gaza.Previously, an American official indicated that Rubio’s trip to Israel had been postponed due to tensions related to Iran.

Reuters reported that Rubio is set to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to provide updates on the latest developments concerning nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington.Notably, a journalist from Al-Monitor revealed that no reporters or media representatives will be allowed to accompany Rubio during his visit to Israel on Monday.

This decision marks a departure from the long-standing practice of allowing media coverage during U.S. Secretary of State visits to Israel. The announcement of Rubio’s trip coincides with the U.S. State Department’s authorization for the departure of non-emergency government personnel and their families from the U.S. embassy in Israel.

The State Department noted that this decision was made due to “security risks” and warned that the “escalation of regional tensions” may lead to flight cancellations or restrictions to and from Israel.
