According to reports from the international news group Student News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, Israeli radio has revealed that Tel Aviv has communicated to Trump its firm stance against providing any financial support to his so-called Peace Council. This announcement comes amidst widespread opposition from various countries around the world, particularly European nations, who have expressed their reluctance to engage with Trump’s controversial initiative.Previously, Trump insisted that member countries must pay substantial amounts to secure permanent seats on the council. He also claimed that these nations had pledged over $5 billion for humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.Israel’s involvement in this council which is fundamentally linked to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has further called into question the legitimacy of the initiative itself.
