Emergency Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to Address Israel’s West Bank Annexation Decisions

Today, the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are convening an emergency meeting in Jeddah to discuss the recent decisions made by the Israeli regime regarding its sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.

According to a statement from the organization, this meeting has been called at the request of member states to evaluate the illegal actions taken by the occupying regime in imposing sovereignty over the West Bank.

The executive committee session will focus on coordinating the positions of member countries and exploring potential actions to counter these decisions. These developments follow the Israeli government’s approval in February of a proposal by several ministers to initiate the registration of lands in the West Bank marking the first such decision since 1967. Both Arab and Islamic nations have described this move as a dangerous shift toward land annexation and have warned about its political and legal ramifications.
