Highlighting the Impact of Israeli Actions Against Journalists in New York City

A newly installed display at a subway station in New York City has drawn attention to the alarming issue of journalist fatalities in Gaza attributed to the Israeli regime. This striking message serves as a protest against the violence faced by reporters in conflict zones urging citizens to reflect on the gravity of the situation.

The display emphasizes that the number of journalists killed by Israel in Gaza surpasses the total fatalities of journalists during the American Civil War both World Wars the Korean and Vietnam Wars as well as the Bosnian War. This stark comparison highlights the severe risks that journalists encounter in their pursuit of truth.

Furthermore a recent report by the Committee to Protect Journalists revealed that at least 129 journalists were killed worldwide in 2025 alone. The report underscores that the Israeli regime has been responsible for the deaths of two-thirds of journalists globally over the past two years. This alarming statistic raises critical questions about the safety of journalists and the accountability of military actions in conflict areas.

The committee also noted that since 1992 the Israeli military has played a more significant role in the deliberate killings of journalists than any other military force worldwide marking a troubling trend in the protection of press freedom.
