California Beauty Queen’s Controversial Remarks on Israel Spark Outrage
The former beauty queen of California Carrie Bridget Bowler has ignited significant controversy with her recent statements regarding the Israeli regime. Her remarks have particularly drawn sharp reactions from pro-Israel circles.
In a post on the social media platform X Bowler asserted “I would rather die than worship ‘Israel.'” She clarified that she does not advocate for suicide and is in good mental health urging that any incidents concerning her should be taken seriously.
These comments surfaced after Bowler participated in an official meeting of the Religious Freedom Commission an entity established to address issues related to religious freedom and combat anti-Semitism in the United States. During this meeting she expressed that as a devout Catholic she does not consider support for ‘Israel’ to be an integral part of Christian faith. She provocatively questioned whether any Catholic opposing Zionism would be labeled anti-Jewish.
Following the dissemination of her views Bowler faced intense backlash from various activists and media outlets supporting Israel. Notably the official page of the American Catholic Church on X expressed its support for Bowler and condemned the character attacks against her.
Recently the former California queen and member of the White House’s Religious Freedom Committee was dismissed from her position. Reports indicate that this decision was made after Bowler publicly stated she would not succumb to Israeli propaganda. Furthermore her use of a pin featuring the flag design at one of the meetings also attracted harsh criticism.
