Scholars Affirm Al-Aqsa Mosque’s Islamic Identity Amid Rising Tensions

The Council of Scholars has issued a statement condemning the intensified actions of the Israeli regime against Al-Aqsa Mosque, deeming these actions an affront to the sanctity of this holy site and the Arab and Islamic identity of Jerusalem.

In their declaration, the scholars emphasized that the assaults and attempts to impose new realities within the Al-Aqsa compound represent a dangerous escalation, particularly targeting the religious sovereignty of Muslims during the blessed month of Ramadan.

The Council firmly stated that Al-Aqsa Mosque, encompassing an area of 144 dunams, is entirely Islamic and a legally endowed property, with its identity remaining unchangeable.Furthermore the scholars called for a unified and comprehensive stance from Islamic countries to support Al-Aqsa Mosque and stressed the necessity of enhancing popular presence and backing for the steadfast residents of Jerusalem.

The statement urged governments to go beyond mere verbal condemnation and to take practical measures to support the inhabitants of Jerusalem activating diplomatic channels to safeguard Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In conclusion the Council of Scholars reiterated that the people of Jerusalem are on the front lines of defending Al-Aqsa Mosque.
