Israeli Settlers Granted 22,000 Construction Permits in West Bank

A recent report by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reveals that from 2009 to 2020 the occupying regime issued a total of 66 construction permits in Area C of the West Bank. This figure starkly contrasts with the approximately 22000 permits granted to settlers for the construction of residential units during the same period.

The significant disparity in construction permits highlights the ongoing expansion of Israeli settlements further complicating the geopolitical landscape in the region. The issuance of such a large number of permits to settlers raises concerns regarding the implications for local Palestinian communities and their rights to land and housing.
