According to a report by Mehr News Agency, citing the Syrian channel ‘Al-Ikhbariya’, an Israeli military patrol attacked two children while they were tending to livestock. This incident occurred during a raid in the village of Boueikah, located in central Quneitra, where a sheep was stolen.
The repercussions of the Israeli assault on these children have not been disclosed, and Syrian officials have yet to comment on the matter. The Israeli regime has been increasingly violating Syrian sovereignty on a near-daily basis. Despite Damascus repeatedly affirming its commitment to the 1974 disengagement agreement between the two parties, Tel Aviv unilaterally nullified this accord following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime on December 8, 2023.
These violations include ground incursions and artillery shelling, particularly in the outskirts of Quneitra and Daraa (south), along with the detention of citizens, establishment of checkpoints, and interrogation of passersby, as well as the destruction of agricultural products. These developments occur despite the announcement of a communication mechanism between Syria and Israel on January 6 aimed at coordinating information exchange reducing military tensions facilitating diplomatic engagement and exploring trade opportunities under U.S. supervision.
Syrians express that the ongoing violation of their national sovereignty by the Israeli regime severely limits their ability to restore stability and disrupts government efforts to attract investment and improve economic conditions.
