According to a report by Mehr News Agency, Amin Pourhossein, the Director of the Foreign Media Center, addressed the significance of Quds Day during the second meeting of the Central Committee for Quds Day held today at the Coordination Council for Islamic Advertising. He noted that this day, initiated by the Islamic Republic, has evolved into a substantial global movement, and it is crucial to leverage this platform effectively in the current context.
Pourhossein pointed out that the overwhelming volume of news and images depicting the plight of the Palestinian people has led to a degree of normalization in media narratives. He stressed the importance of adopting a creative and ‘familiarity-dismissing’ approach for this year’s Quds Day to disrupt this normalized perception and regain public interest. He further highlighted the proposed themes discussed in coordination meetings, suggesting that an abundance of topics might dilute the focus and impact of the message. Therefore, he recommended streamlining and consolidating the subjects to present a cohesive and unified message and imagery for Quds Day.
Additionally, Pourhossein underscored the ‘Palestinian Referendum’ initiative as a key emphasis of the Supreme Leader. He asserted that the concept of resolving the Palestinian issue through a public referendum could serve as a central thematic element on Quds Day. It is essential to clarify the connection between this initiative and the ongoing resistance to avoid any misconceptions about undermining the struggle.Pourhossein remarked that focusing on ‘continuing resistance until the Palestinian referendum is realized’ could be a significant step forward in shaping the discourse surrounding the Palestinian issue both domestically and internationally.
