According to a report by Mehr News Agency citing Russia Today, Amos Harel, a military analyst for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, noted that the insistence on continuing the war without a clear outlook has resulted in a ‘waste of achievements.’ He emphasized that after months of intensive operations, it is evident that Israel currently has no say in the Gaza Strip.Harel pointed out that what is known as the ‘Trump Plan’ for Gaza is gradually entering the implementation phase. Predictions suggest that practical steps for reconstruction projects and the establishment of a technocratic government, possibly alongside a limited international force, may commence in the near future. He remarked that U.S. discussions about disarming Hamas have yet to materialize into a concrete plan or binding timeline. In this context, Yoav Limor, a military analyst for the newspaper Israel Hayom, believes that Hamas will not rush to relinquish control over Gaza. Even if compelled to do so, they may seek to maintain a military role similar to that of Hezbollah in Lebanon, ensuring that an armed force remains while other civil entities manage daily affairs.Limor added that Israel will demand full execution of any agreement, with disarmament of Gaza being paramount. However, he expressed skepticism about the capability of potential international forces to achieve objectives that Israel has failed to accomplish during two years of intense conflict. These analyses link the trajectory of the war in Gaza to broader regional calculations particularly concerning Iran and the slow normalization of relations with Saudi Arabia. Analysts believe that Tel Aviv is attempting to forge a united front with Washington against Tehran even if this necessitates avoiding obstacles in the current political arrangements being proposed in Gaza.
