According to reports from Mehr News Agency citing Al-Akhbar newspaper, Ali Fayad, a Lebanese parliament member and member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, reacted to the escalating violations and crimes of the Zionist regime in Lebanese territory amid the government’s weak stance. He labeled the mechanism committee meetings (overseeing ceasefire implementation) as pointless and dubious, stating that negotiating with the enemy equates to capitulation to endless and perilous conditions.
Ali Fayad emphasized that what is even more dangerous than the recent brutal aggressions of the Zionist regime is the enemy’s explicit declaration of its intent to remain in the occupied areas of Lebanon and establish a security belt for itself. This position is exceedingly perilous and cannot be overlooked in Lebanon’s calculations and assessment of the situation.He stated that the stance of the occupying regime implies that its pressure for disarming the resistance is not a precursor to its withdrawal from Lebanese soil, but rather a step towards solidifying its occupation and remaining in our country.
This Hezbollah representative asserted that the Zionist regime seeks to eliminate the resistance’s weapons to maintain its presence in Lebanon, continue violating its sovereignty, target whatever it desires within our borders, and impose a security agreement on Lebanon that ultimately leads to the normalization of relations between the two parties and economic exchanges.Fayad questioned what Lebanon would gain from this situation, highlighting that it would achieve nothing—no security, no sovereignty, no stability, and no return for the residents of border villages to their homes.
He criticized the Lebanese government’s weak and passive stance against the aggressions and occupation by the Zionist regime, asserting that the current negotiation path taken by the Lebanese government, under the auspices of the United States and the Zionist regime, has become meaningless for Lebanon. It amounts to nothing more than surrendering to endless and dangerous conditions that yield no benefits for Lebanon and pose a serious threat to our national interests.This representative of the resistance bloc noted that condemnation statements hold no significance and the mechanism committee meetings are equally empty and suspicious. The government’s policy of free concessions will not only fail to compel the Zionists to retreat but will also embolden them to continue their aggressions and occupations within our territory.
In conclusion this Hezbollah representative stated that the declaration of the Zionist enemy’s intention to remain in Lebanon along with its insistence on targeting our youth and destroying our people’s livelihoods serves as a valid justification for the Lebanese people’s right to resist in defense of their land and themselves.
