According to a report by Mehr News Agency, citing the Palestinian Information Center, Volker Turk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, has warned about the dangers of ethnic cleansing. He emphasized that Israel’s actions in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, including military operations that lead to the displacement of residents, are aimed at creating lasting changes in the demographic composition of these areas.In his address to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Turk stated, ‘It appears that the cumulative actions of Israel are intended to create a permanent demographic change in Gaza and the West Bank, raising concerns about the potential for ethnic cleansing.’The UN official specifically referred to Israeli military operations in northern West Bank which have persisted for over a year resulting in the displacement of 32000 Palestinians.
