In the wake of recent unrest, dissenting factions in several Iranian cities have cloaked themselves in the guise of legitimate protests. Hebrew-language media and officials from the Israeli regime have embarked on a concerted effort to exaggerate and exacerbate instability within Iran. According to political and security institutions in the country, these actions are part of a broader strategy by adversaries aimed at sowing discord and undermining national cohesion.
Israeli officials have openly supported the instigators of chaos. For instance, Itamar Ben Gvir, the regime’s Minister of National Security, publicly declared in Persian on social media, ‘We stand with you.’ Simultaneously, Gila Gamli’el, a former Minister of Information and current Minister of Innovation, addressed the rioters, stating, ‘Your protests are entirely justified… Israel will support you in every way possible.’ These statements come against a backdrop where Israeli intelligence agencies have long supported separatist and anti-revolutionary groups in Iran.
Hebrew media outlets are portraying limited disturbances, orchestrated by ‘elements linked to terrorist and violent factions,’ as a ‘popular uprising.’ Some analysts within the Israeli camp have admitted that the scale of protests is comparatively limited, and the Iranian populace has not rallied behind the rioters.Certain media figures and analysts have gone so far as to explicitly advocate for a strategy aimed at the disintegration of Iran. For example, Mordechai Kedar, a retired Mossad officer, claimed in an article for the Jerusalem Post that ‘non-Persian nations hold the key to overthrowing the Iranian regime,’ proposing a plan to divide Iran into six separate countries. A former Israeli intelligence official also mentioned in a conversation with Newsweek that supporting separatist groups is viewed as Israel’s ‘secret weapon’ against Iran.
Currently, Hebrew-language media is extensively covering minor disturbances within Iran, amplifying the narrative surrounding failed domestic rioters and fabricating various scenarios about internal developments. The aim appears to be to provoke Western countries, particularly the United States, into political reactions and, ultimately, operational actions against Iran. Initially, it is worth noting that the current unrest, though minimal, was immediately met with coverage from media in the occupied territories. The primary keyword employed by these outlets to describe the events in Iran has been ‘Iranian Revolution,’ suggesting a premeditated readiness among the Zionists to initiate movements involving Mossad-affiliated elements and commence a media campaign supporting and reflecting chaos within Iran.
As shown in the accompanying image, a search for the term ‘Iranian Revolution’ in Hebrew yields a vast array of news and reports, indicating a high level of focus among Zionists on developments in Iran. For instance, the Yedioth Ahronoth website reported on the unrest in Iran under the headline ‘Iranian Revolution,’ claiming a significant presence of Generation Z and adolescents in public squares, insinuating that the majority of rioters are young people seeking revolution and a return to the Pahlavi monarchy. However, recent images and videos of violent elements and rioters do not corroborate this portrayal of widespread youth involvement.
Similarly, Channel 14, closely aligned with the Israeli Prime Minister, claims that a large number of people have taken to the streets in Iran, asserting that protests are expanding, despite the limited nature of the disturbances. This assertion stands in stark contrast to the reality that economic, social, and political affairs across the country continue as normal, and the activities of certain criminal factions linked to the Israeli regime have not disrupted daily life.
Channel 12 has also reported on the disturbances linked to Mossad with exaggerated claims about the riots, acknowledging that Israeli leaders view the recent events as an opportunity and are closely monitoring developments in Iran.Another notable issue is the reliance of these media outlets on images and footage from the unrest of 2017, 2019, and 2022. These outlets, anticipating a lack of public support for the Israeli regime’s project to incite chaos within Iran, are using old images to inflate the scale of protests beyond their actual extent. In this context, i24 News published a headline featuring an image from 2022, falsely proclaiming that ‘massive protests have erupted in Tehran!’
The Iranian government and security agencies are closely monitoring this project and have warned that this time, they will respond decisively to the rioters. The coordination between Hebrew media and domestic anti-revolutionary elements is so apparent that even some voices within the Israeli regime have raised alarms. Simah Shine, head of the Iran section at the Israeli Institute for Security Studies, stated, ‘We are revealing ourselves, confirming the narrative that the unrest in Iran is orchestrated by Mossad and the CIA!’ A journalist from Israel also remarked on the content published by Iranian rioters, suggesting, ‘This likely indicates they have received guidance from Mossad. There is no way all of this could be natural.’As highlighted earlier Hebrew-language media currently serves as a media vanguard in line with the hostile policies of the Israeli regime against Iran. The goal of these outlets is not to reflect reality but to incite violence promote despair and undermine national unity in Iran. Nevertheless the failure of previous projects such as the 12-day war and the lack of public support for the rioters illustrate that the Iranian people are keenly aware of these plots and the enemy’s media manipulations lack the power to mislead them. These media and their supporters must recognize that the Iranian nation has repeatedly proven its ability to maintain national cohesion in the most challenging circumstances and will not allow foreign entities to influence their future.
