According to reports from Palestinian sources, the Israeli regime has agreed to seize approximately 2,000 dunams (each dunam is about 1,000 square meters) of land in Sebastia and Burqa, located in the northern region of Nablus. This move is part of ongoing efforts to expand settlements and incorporate the West Bank into Israeli territory. In a recent cabinet meeting, the Israeli government approved a plan to take ownership of certain areas in the West Bank, reinforcing its occupation and territorial claims. This initiative lays the groundwork for Israel’s ownership of these lands, ultimately accelerating the annexation project in the region. This decision contravenes international law by transferring vast areas of the West Bank into Israeli occupation and ownership. Despite this, Israeli officials are attempting to portray the action as legal, while obscuring its imperialistic implications. They have stated that this process will be gradual and cautious, occurring only after thorough legal reviews are completed. In response over 80 countries have condemned Israel’s new plan against the West Bank describing its intent as an attempt to seize and confiscate Palestinian lands in the area.
