According to reports, the Lebanese Army issued a statement today, announcing that its troops were targeted by gunfire from Israeli military forces while setting up a lookout post in the ‘Sarda’ area of southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese Army further explained that they were in the process of constructing a new base in the region when the Israeli fire commenced. The statement instructed Lebanese forces to remain in the area and respond to the aggression from Israeli soldiers.In line with this, Al-Mayadeen News Network reported today on a renewed violation of the ceasefire in southern Lebanon, indicating that Israeli soldiers opened fire from a newly established site in ‘Tal al-Hamam’.

The report also noted that the occupiers targeted ‘Wadi al-Asafir’ south of Khyam and the ‘Sarda’ region in southern Lebanon.

Reports indicate that this Israeli gunfire coincided with the deployment of the Lebanese Army at three new positions in the area.Following the escalation of Israeli aggression in Lebanese territory which resulted in the martyrdom of over ten individuals and injuries to dozens more in the south and east of the country Mahmoud Qamati the deputy head of Hezbollah’s political council stated that there is no option but to resist in defense of Lebanon.

He emphasized that the ceasefire agreement established a year ago is not being honored. He questioned whether the government and certain factions aligned with the enemy have finally realized that diplomacy and international relations are ineffective in countering such aggressions.
