Counter-Terrorism Operation in Southeast Country Results in Arrests and Seizures
A significant counter-terrorism operation in the southeastern region of the country led to the dismantling of a terrorist network. Eight members of this group linked to extremist factions and foreign intelligence services were apprehended by the forces of the Imam Zaman Unknown Soldiers Quds Headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Law Enforcement Force. Additionally three terrorists were killed during the operation.
During the raid on the terrorists’ hideouts and safe houses a substantial cache of military-grade weaponry was uncovered. This included RPG-7s American-made M4 rifles equipped with night vision scopes several Kalashnikov rifles fitted with grenade launchers and handguns. All individuals who were either killed or detained were foreign nationals hired by the aforementioned terrorist group.
The arrested suspects during preliminary interrogations explicitly confessed to conducting operational attacks on security personnel at a checkpoint in Fajr Kerman. This assault tragically resulted in the deaths of three law enforcement officers and one civilian.
