One of the minister’s advisors was violently attacked by a staff member during a meeting.The advisor, who holds a consultant position, stated that he was assaulted by another employee, resulting in him being thrown to the ground. This incident unfolded in the presence of Minister Silman and several senior officials, leading to the advisor requiring medical assistance and subsequently filing a complaint with the police.Approximately two weeks prior, a shocking and violent incident was reported in Silman’s office. One staff member claimed to have been attacked by another, resulting in injuries to his legs after being thrown to the ground. Following this event, a formal report was submitted to the Israeli police.Alex Shafran, the minister’s advisor, indicated that the attack occurred at the conclusion of a staff meeting held on January 25, 2026. He reported that another employee forcefully pushed him, causing him to fall and collide with a nearby wall, leading to pain in his legs.Shafran received treatment in a hospital for his injuries and emphasized that the incident caused him physical harm, prompting him to take sick leave. In an official letter addressed to Sara Silman and Rami Rozen, the director-general of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, he detailed the incident, noting that it happened in front of witnesses.The letter also stated that both the director-general and Minister Silman were present during the attack. Despite the serious nature of the incident the minister’s office claimed to be unaware of such an occurrence.
