Lapid referenced the ongoing scandal known as ‘Qatargate,’ where some aides to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have been implicated in collaborating with a company linked to Qatar. He emphasized the detrimental impact of Qatari funds, stating, ‘What we are witnessing in American universities is a direct result of Qatari money that promotes anti-Semitism and radical Islamism, while simultaneously funding individuals close to the Prime Minister.’Concluding his remarks Lapid asserted ‘Qatar is an enemy of the United States an enemy of Israel an enemy of the Jewish people and an enemy of the entire world.’ His statements highlight the growing tensions surrounding Qatar’s influence and its perceived role in funding anti-Israel sentiment.
