The Heartfelt Story of a Mother and Her Martyr Son
In a poignant encounter Zahra Javadi shared her memories of her son Ali Javadi during a gathering of women in East Azerbaijan with the Supreme Leader. Her story rich in emotion illustrates the deep bonds of love and sacrifice.
Zahra recounted a moment when she noticed a fellow mother searching for her friend amidst the growing crowd. They conversed in Turkish a language that fostered warmth and trust between them. When asked about her son Zahra revealed that Ali was a martyr of the twelve-day war having been just twenty-two years old and only months away from completing his military service.
One day a television broadcast featured the image of a young martyr from Tehran prompting tears to stream down Zahra’s face as she remembered her son. “My heart aches for these young boys” she expressed reflecting her profound empathy.
Zahra described the challenges of raising her children alone after her husband passed away. On the last day of Ali’s life he asked her to prepare a drink for him. After enjoying a glass of syrup he proclaimed “This is the last syrup of my life. Tomorrow I will become a martyr.” Tragically his prediction came true when the barracks were attacked and her beloved Ali was lost forever.
