Israel Faces Shortage of Interceptor Missiles Amid Iranian Threats
The Israeli regime is currently grappling with a significant shortage of interceptor missiles for its air defense systems, as concerns mount over a potential large-scale missile attack from Iran. Recent data indicates that the production rate of interceptor missiles is not keeping pace with operational consumption, raising alarms about Israel’s defensive capabilities.
According to a report by The New York Times, the United States is also expected to face shortages in its reserves. The U.S. plans to assist Israel with its defensive systems both at sea and on land, while simultaneously needing to stockpile weapons for its own potential offensive operations.A primary vulnerability for Israel lies in its ability to withstand a deluge of missile attacks from Iran. Dana Stroul a former senior Pentagon official responsible for Middle Eastern affairs directly addressed the issue of interceptor missile reserves stating “The stocks of interceptor missiles are not unlimited. If Iran manages to launch massive volleys of hundreds of missiles simultaneously Israel and the United States will be forced to make extremely difficult decisions regarding which missiles to intercept and which ones to let pass.”
