The Disappearance of Ahmad Metavselian: A Mission into Beirut

Ahmad Metavselian embarked on a mission to identify Israeli positions in Beirut and never returned. According to Kowsari a member of parliament Israel had reached southern Lebanon and a strategic operation was planned to push them back. Metavselian known for his unwavering readiness prepared his team after meeting with the then President and Imam Khomeini.

The forces were dispatched to the Zabadani region in Syria near the Lebanese border. It was initially intended for Metavselian to join them later. However despite warnings from others about the perilous route he chose to proceed to Beirut for reconnaissance on enemy positions and equipment. Reports indicate that they were compromised at the Syrian-Lebanese border and from that point onward there has been no news of Ahmad Metavselian and his companions.
