According to international news reports from France 24, a court in France sentenced Mahdieh Esfandiari, an Iranian citizen arrested for her support of Palestine, to four years in prison on Thursday, March 7, 2025.
Esfandiari received a sentence that includes one year of definitive imprisonment and three years suspended, following her court hearing in France.Prior to her conditional release Esfandiari spent eight months in pre-trial detention.
Additionally the court has imposed a permanent ban on her entry into French territory marking a significant legal consequence for her activism.
