Escalating Violence Against Medical Personnel in Gaza: A Call for Accountability

Doctors Without Borders has reported six fatal attacks by the Israeli military against its staff and their families in Gaza. These incidents which occurred over two years ago have yet to be the subject of any official investigation.

The assaults have resulted in the deaths of seven healthcare workers and their family members in the Gaza Strip. Despite extensive inquiries by military prosecutors the organization has not received any indication that investigations are forthcoming.

In a recent development the Israeli cabinet has decided to prohibit the continued operations of Doctors Without Borders in both Gaza and the West Bank further complicating the humanitarian situation in the region.
