Somaliland Seeks Economic and Military Collaboration with the United States

In a significant diplomatic move Somaliland is actively pursuing economic and military partnerships with the United States. This initiative follows the recent recognition of Somaliland by Israel which occurred approximately two months ago.

Khadar Hussein Abdi the individual holding the position of ‘Minister of the Presidency of Somaliland’ expressed these intentions during an interview with Agence France-Presse. He proposed that the United States be granted access to Somaliland’s rich mineral resources and military bases aiming to bolster strategic ties between the two entities.
