Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a significant two-day visit to Israel, marking his first trip to the country since the onset of the Gaza conflict.

During a joint session at the Knesset, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared their collaborative efforts in developing the IMEC corridor initiative. This ambitious project aims to create a seamless land and maritime route connecting India through the Arabian Peninsula to Haifa port, extending further to the Mediterranean and Europe.Netanyahu emphasized that the success and sustainability of this corridor hinge on its passage through stable and secure nations. He stated, “In this framework, there are no countries more powerful and secure than Israel and India.”

He expressed his appreciation for Modi’s commitment, highlighting that Israel will serve as a vital link between Asia and Europe through Haifa port.Modi in his address to the Knesset reiterated India’s steadfast support for Israel asserting “At this moment and beyond we stand firmly and fully committed alongside Israel.”

He noted the immense admiration in India for Israel’s determination courage and achievements stating that their connections date back over 2000 years long before modern governments and official relations were established.
