Counter-Terrorism Operation Neutralizes Three Militants in Southeastern Region

In a significant counter-terrorism operation, three militants were neutralized in the southeastern region of the country. This operation targeted a terrorist network operating along the borders, which is affiliated with extremist groups and foreign intelligence services. The operation was conducted by the soldiers of the Imam Mahdi Intelligence Unit in collaboration with the Quds Ground Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the provincial law enforcement forces.

During the operation, eight members of this terrorist network were apprehended. The security forces engaged in a confrontation with the militants, resulting in the elimination of three terrorists. Following the dismantling of their safe houses, a substantial cache of military-grade weapons was recovered. This included RPG-7s, American-made M4 rifles equipped with night vision scopes, several Kalashnikov rifles with grenade launchers, multiple handguns with ammunition, suppressors, stolen vehicle license plates, and two cars intended for operational use.The apprehended individuals confessed during preliminary interrogations to their involvement in an operational attack on the checkpoint personnel at the Faharj-Kerman road which tragically resulted in the deaths of three law enforcement officers and one civilian. This operation underscores the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and enhance security in the region.
