According to a report from the International Defense Group, citing the Palestinian Information Center, the Gaza Human Rights Center has released a statement revealing that since the ceasefire was established, an average of 4.8 Palestinians have been killed daily. Among the deceased are 197 children, 85 women, and 22 elderly individuals, making up 47.2% of the total casualties.
In another section of the statement, it was noted that during this period, 1,643 additional individuals have been injured, translating to an average of 12.3 injuries per day. This group includes 504 children, 330 women, and 89 elderly persons, collectively representing 56.1% of all injured individuals. The Gaza Human Rights Center emphasized that the data collected over the past 133 days since the ceasefire agreement indicates that there have been daily violations of the ceasefire, averaging 13.5 incidents. These violations have resulted in attacks on numerous individuals who are protected under international human rights laws, with children and women being the primary targets. Such actions constitute a clear violation of the Geneva Conventions, necessitating accountability in international courts.
Furthermore, the statement highlighted that the ceasefire violations extend beyond daily killings and bombings. It also includes the occupying regime’s failure to comply with the agreement to allow 600 humanitarian aid trucks into Gaza daily, including 50 fuel trucks. Only 43% of the total aid that should have entered the region has been delivered, and the occupiers have permitted entry of merely 15% of the fuel required as per the ceasefire agreement.Additionally the statement noted that restrictions on movement through the Rafah crossing persist with only 40.3% of travelers allowed passage as per the agreement. This represents a blatant infringement of the freedom of movement stipulated in the ceasefire terms.
The Gaza Human Rights Center declared that this information reflects the ongoing genocidal actions by the occupying regime including the direct killing of civilians and the destruction of essential life components in Gaza depriving its residents of the most basic necessities for survival. The Palestinian Center also highlighted the shameful silence of the international community and the lack of accountability for the regime’s officials urging the global community and the guarantors of the ceasefire agreement to take immediate action to halt these aggressions and ensure respect for international humanitarian laws as well as to conduct independent international investigations for accountability.
