When asked about the loss of many senior officials and commanders due to targeted assassinations, he acknowledged the vulnerabilities within their security system but emphasized that these weaknesses have since been addressed.<\/p>\n
Araghchi stated, “We must accept that there were shortcomings. However, we have overcome them. The 12-day war taught us invaluable lessons. Yes, this was one of our weaknesses, but the crucial point is that all high-ranking commanders were promptly replaced, allowing us to initiate self-defense immediately. On the very night of the Israeli attack, we retaliated with missiles, and with each passing day, our missile precision and targeting improved.”He further noted that by the twelfth day Israel requested an unconditional ceasefire. American officials contacted him urging that Israel would halt its actions and requested Iran to do the same. Araghchi responded stating “We are willing to accept an unconditional ceasefire; otherwise we will continue to defend ourselves.”<\/p>\n
