Abu Shamala noted recent signs indicating increased restrictions against Palestinians, including heightened armed presence around and at the entrances of Al-Aqsa Mosque, stringent control of movement, and the issuance of hundreds of entry bans for Palestinian youths and activists. He stated that the atmosphere surrounding Al-Aqsa has become more security-oriented than ever before.He expressed concern over efforts to alter the current status quo at this holy site stating that Zionists are attempting to impose new regulations and normalize certain non-Muslim religious practices within the precincts of Al-Aqsa Mosque.<\/p>\n
Furthermore the President of the Al-Quds Foundation Malaysia pointed out media restrictions noting that several local media outlets covering daily developments at Al-Aqsa have ceased operations in recent weeks.
