Additionally, these actions undermine ongoing efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region, including the 20-point ceasefire plan for Gaza, threatening any real prospects for regional integration. The statement called on the Israeli cabinet to immediately revoke these decisions, respect international commitments, and refrain from any actions that would permanently alter the legal and administrative status of the occupied Palestinian territories.

The foreign ministers stressed that these decisions follow an unprecedented acceleration of Israeli settlement policies, including the approval of the E1 project and its associated tenders, viewing these actions as a direct and intentional assault on the foundations of a Palestinian state and the two-state solution.

The participating countries declared that all actions aimed at changing the demographic composition, characteristics, and legal status of the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967, including East Jerusalem, are rejected. The Israeli cabinet must put an end to settler violence against Palestinians by holding accountable those responsible for these aggressions.

The foreign ministers of these 19 Islamic, Arab, and Western nations demanded specific steps in accordance with international law to counter the expansion of illegal settlements in Palestinian lands and the policies and threats of forced displacement and annexation. They emphasized the importance of preserving the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and the sacred sites in Palestine. The statement concluded that peace and stability in the region can only be achieved through the establishment of an independent democratic Palestinian state with sovereignty.

In reaction to this statement Hamas released a statement early today welcoming the declaration made by twenty Arab Islamic and European countries condemning the Israeli regime’s plans to expand its actions aimed at consolidating control and annexing the occupied West Bank.

Hamas described this action as a step in the right direction in confronting the expansionist plans of the occupiers which blatantly violate international laws and relevant United Nations resolutions. The movement urged these nations and all countries worldwide to take tangible and concrete steps such as imposing deterrent sanctions and exerting pressure on the fascist Israeli regime to halt its policies aimed at imposing annexation schemes expanding settlements in Palestinian lands and forcing the displacement of Palestinians. They called for action to stop the systematic aggressions of the occupiers against the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Hamas calls on nations worldwide to transform statements condemning Israeli actions in Palestine into tangible actions.

[64

post-23569","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-palestine
["GET
