In a startling declaration, Bezalel Smotrich, the Israeli Finance Minister, asserted that the Israeli regime is poised to fully occupy the Gaza Strip and construct Jewish settlements there. This announcement comes despite an existing ceasefire agreement that had ostensibly ended over two years of genocidal conflict in the besieged territory.<\/p>\n
Smotrich claimed that the occupiers remain steadfast in their goal to obliterate the Hamas movement. He stated, ‘We are giving Donald Trump, the President of the United States, the opportunity to carry this out in his own way. If he fails to eradicate Hamas, the Israeli army will secure international legitimacy and American support to achieve this.’He further emphasized that the army is preparing plans to be executed should Hamas fail to disarm. ‘Soon, an ultimatum will be issued to Hamas for the surrender of all weapons, headquarters, and tunnels. If they agree, that would be ideal; otherwise, we will gain the necessary legitimacy to act independently.’ <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Israeli army claimed that the 7th Brigade has completed its three-month mission in Rafah, southern Gaza, destroying 8.5 kilometers of tunnels. The military also reported direct engagements during the tunnel-clearing operations in Rafah.The Israeli regime launched a devastating war against Gaza on October 7 2023 with U.S. backing which lasted two years. This assault resulted in the deaths of over 72000 Palestinians and left more than 171000 others injured decimating over 90% of Gaza’s infrastructure.
