This vision, which emerged over a century ago, gained traction with the establishment of the Israeli regime in the 1940s. Each year, innocent lives have been lost in pursuit of this goal, with Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s most hardline Prime Minister, prominently showcasing this agenda to the world. The instability in Syria after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government has reignited hopes for the realization of this long-held Zionist dream of a ‘Greater Israel.’

In this series, we will delve into the sinister plans of the Zionists against the Syrian people, exploring the future of the nation and their efforts to fragment southern and eastern Syria.

One year after the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, Syria stands on the brink of division. On November 27, 2024, after nearly five years of ceasefire, armed opposition forces launched operations in northern Syria, particularly in western Aleppo. Few anticipated that this would lead to the downfall of Assad’s government. Yet, in a shocking turn of events, the pillars of the Syrian state crumbled within ten days, as forces led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham entered Damascus on December 8, 2024, marking the end of the Ba’ath Party’s rule after 61 years. Ahmad al-Shara, also known as Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, transitioned from an international terrorist to Syria’s new ruler, replacing Bashar al-Assad.

As soon as Damascus fell under the control of al-Jolani’s forces, power struggles reignited across Syria. Turkey-backed groups in northern and eastern Aleppo sought to exploit the situation, aiming to expand their territory and weaken the Kurdish forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which are comprised of units led by the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its military branches (YPG and YPJ). These Kurdish forces, supported by the U.S.-led coalition under the pretext of combating ISIS, have seized vast areas in eastern Syria. Interestingly, during the clashes between Kurdish militants and Turkey-backed groups, al-Jolani and his forces remarkably refrained from military intervention, remaining neutral and not attacking the U.S.-supported forces.

It appears that, in exchange for certain concessions, the Americans were somewhat aware of al-Jolani’s plans to capitalize on the situation following the ‘Storm of Al-Aqsa’ operation on October 7, 2023, aimed at overthrowing the Syrian government and weakening the resistance axis in the region, showing tacit approval of the unfolding events.Israel’s ambitions for the official occupation of southern Syria and a connection to the Euphrates face significant obstacles. Two regions in eastern and southern Syria remain outside al-Jolani’s control following the previous government’s collapse: the Kurdish-controlled area in eastern Syria and the Druze-dominated province of Suwayda in the south which is now under the sway of various armed Druze groups. Even with the establishment of the new Syrian government individuals affiliated with the Kurdish forces in the Euphrates region and the Druze in Suwayda were excluded from participation leading to a lack of mutual trust between these groups and al-Jolani’s government. This situation has further fueled Israel’s long-standing interests in preventing a strong unified government in Syria which could pose a security threat to Israel.

The temporary agreement signed by al-Jolani and Mazloum Abdi the commander of the Kurdish forces serves merely as a short-term guarantee against direct military confrontation. It seems that the Kurdish militants in the Euphrates region are ever-prepared to implement Israel’s ground corridor plan from the occupied territories to the Kurdish region of Syria. This corridor would connect to oil and gas facilities in both eastern Syria and northern Iraq aligning with the Zionist aspiration for energy security under the banner of a Greater Israel. If we perceive this plan as comprising two major steps by the Zionists the first must be taken in southern Syria particularly in the Druze region to establish a foothold for connection to the Kurdish area.

Following the takeover of Damascus and the emergence as the principal political-military force in Syria al-Jolani and his associates initiated efforts to gain both domestic and international legitimacy. This included extensive media operations to project a moderate and peace-seeking image along with rapid government formation and outreach to international powers for support. However the crisis soon returned to Syria as the Takfiri forces under al-Jolani perpetrated widespread massacres against the Alawite population along the Syrian coast. Israeli airstrikes devastated much of Syria’s military infrastructure and Damascus’s attempts to assert control over Suwayda led to bloody clashes with Israel supporting separatist Druze factions.

Following the fall of Damascus and its capture by al-Jolani’s forces, a power struggle erupted across Syria.

[64

post-21412","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-palestine
["GET
