The Hebrew website Nziv highlights alarming trends in birth rates and economic conditions within the regime, stating, “The birth rate in Israel has reached unprecedented levels since the establishment of the state. Approximately a quarter of a million Jews have left Israel, leading to a significant demographic shift: the population dependent on government taxes, namely the ultra-Orthodox, is on the rise, while secular Jews show little interest in having children.””The ultra-Orthodox population continues to represent the majority of Jewish population growth—women in this group average over six children, compared to their secular counterparts who have two or fewer. Meanwhile, economic disparities are stark: one-third of Israel’s population lives below the poverty line, and only 17% earn over $100,000 annually. Currently, the cost of living—particularly housing and food—far exceeds that of other regions worldwide, impacting growth and productivity significantly.””Secular Jewish women average fewer than 2.5 children—a continuous decline. The majority of Jewish population growth stems from the ultra-Orthodox community, whose women average over six children. Without this group, the Jewish population would equal that of Muslims in Israel. Despite criticisms aimed at the ultra-Orthodox, Israel remains reliant on them.”According to the Taub Center for Social Policy Studies, the occupied territories are experiencing the lowest population growth rates since their establishment in 1948, exacerbated by a troubling rise in suicide rates among soldiers. Middle East Eye cites a report titled “Israel 2025: A Demographic Crossroad Ahead,” which examines Israel’s demographic developments over the past year, revealing a population growth rate of just 0.9 percent—the lowest since Israel’s founding in 1948.This report focuses on the impacts of birth rates, mortality, and migration on Israel’s demographics over the past year. While birth and death rates have remained stable, the report identifies migration as the “primary factor in the decline of Israel’s population growth rate.”Over the past two years, nearly 120,000 Israeli citizens have emigrated, surpassing the number of those returning to the occupied territories. These figures do not account for new Jewish immigrants to Israel, yet even including them, Israel’s migration balance remains negative. The Knesset report states that an unprecedented number of Israelis have left since 2020 and have not returned. Most of those departing were not born in the occupied territories, yet “the emigration of native Israelis has been steadily increasing over the past four years.”Author Alex Weiner estimates that the negative migration trend will continue to rise through 2026 predicting that the number of Israelis registered as emigrants will remain high at least until June 2026. The report concludes that the number of Israelis leaving the country in recent years is the highest on record.

Recent reports indicate a significant rise in Jewish emigration from the occupied territories due to economic challenges and ongoing military tensions, coupled with a drastic decline in birth rates among the middle class of this regime.

[64

post-19902","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-palestine
["GET
