{"id":19841,"date":"2026-02-22T10:59:13","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T07:29:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghodsnama.com\/mashreghnews_en\/37264667633795373286\/"},"modified":"2026-02-22T10:59:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T07:29:13","slug":"37264667633795373286","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ghodsnama.com\/mashreghnews_en\/37264667633795373286\/","title":{"rendered":"Netanyahu: U.S. Supports Disarming Hamas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to reports, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed on Thursday evening that the United States is in agreement that Hamas must be disarmed and that Gaza should be demilitarized before any reconstruction efforts can begin in the war-torn region.<\/p>\n<p>During an event related to the Israeli military, Netanyahu stated, &#8220;We have reached an understanding with our friends in the United States; there will be no reconstruction in the Gaza Strip until it is demilitarized.&#8221;This assertion comes despite Netanyahu&#8217;s absence from the inaugural Gaza Peace Council meeting held in Washington, D.C., where Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa&#8217;ar represented him instead.<\/p>\n<p>Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, present alongside Netanyahu, claimed that Israel will maintain a permanent presence in Gaza, even as a 20-point ceasefire agreement mediated by former U.S. President Donald Trump calls for a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces. Katz insisted that a permanent military presence in a security zone within Gaza will remain indefinitely.Katz also made a statement regarding Iran asserting &#8220;We are prepared and vigilant to defend ourselves against any challenges and we are working closely with the United States.
