Israeli Settlements: A Disparity in Construction Permits in the West Bank

A recent report from the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reveals a significant imbalance in the issuance of construction permits in the West Bank. Between 2009 and 2020 the occupying regime granted a mere 66 permits for construction to Palestinians in Area C of the West Bank.

In stark contrast during the same period settlers were able to secure approximately 22000 permits for the construction of residential units. This disparity highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the Palestinian population in obtaining building rights and underscores the broader implications of settlement expansion in the region.
