Greek Court Sentences Two Israelis for Espionage Related to Predator Malware Scandal
A Greek court has sentenced four individuals, including two Israeli nationals, to eight years in prison in connection with the political scandal surrounding the Predator spyware that came to light in 2022.
This case involves the illegal use of sophisticated malware to spy on the mobile phones of over 90 political figures, journalists, business leaders, and senior military officials in Greece. Among those convicted is Tal Dilian, a former Israeli army officer and founder of Intellexa.
Intellexa is a company known for producing spyware and was responsible for the marketing and sale of the Predator malware in Greece. Alongside Dilian, his partner and two former executives of the company were also found guilty.According to the judge’s ruling these individuals who were absent from the court proceedings were convicted of several offenses including violations of telephone communication confidentiality repeated manipulation of personal data storage systems and unauthorized access to information systems or data.
