Emergency Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to Address Israeli Annexation Decisions
An emergency session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is convening today in Jeddah, where foreign ministers will assess the recent decisions made by the Israeli regime regarding the annexation of the occupied West Bank.
According to an official statement from the OIC, this meeting has been called at the request of the Palestinian government to discuss the unlawful actions of the occupying regime aimed at imposing sovereignty over the West Bank. The session will focus on coordinating the positions of member states and exploring potential measures to counter these decisions.
These developments follow the Israeli government’s agreement in February to initiate a land registration process in the West Bank, marking the first such decision since 1967. Palestinians, along with Arab and Islamic nations, have condemned this action as a dangerous shift towards the annexation of Palestinian territories and have raised concerns about its political and legal ramifications.
