In a statement reported by the Al-Alam news agency, Palestinian resistance committees expressed their condolences to the people of Palestine, the Islamic nation, and freedom-loving individuals worldwide for the loss of several lives in Lebanon and Palestine due to recent Israeli assaults on Lebanese territory.
The statement highlighted that the recent aggression targeted civilian areas in the Bekaa region of eastern Lebanon and the Ain al-Hilweh camp, showcasing the ‘criminal and bloody face’ of the Israeli regime. These committees stressed that the Israeli regime carries out massacres against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples under the guise of ‘false justifications and claims’, with these actions continuing amid the ‘shameful silence of the international community’.
Furthermore, the statement clarified that the escalation of tensions and attacks against the ‘presence of Palestinians in Lebanon’ and the ‘sovereignty and resistance of Lebanon’ would not have occurred without the green light from U.S. government entities, which provide support to the Israeli regime across political, military, diplomatic, and media arenas. The Palestinian resistance committees also asserted that this aggression illustrates the futility of relying on so-called American and Western peace processes, emphasizing that only the ‘language of resistance’ can deter this regime.
This statement followed Israeli fighter jets bombing several locations in the Bekaa region and the Ain al-Hilweh camp on Friday night.
Areas surrounding the town of Riyak, near the town of Qasr Naba, a building near the town of Tamnin, and the Shaara region in the Nabi Sheet heights witnessed the most intense Israeli attacks.Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health’s emergency operations center reported that ‘Israeli enemy attacks on several towns in the Bekaa region resulted in the martyrdom of 10 citizens and injuries to 24 others including three children.’ In this context Hezbollah Lebanon issued separate statements mourning the loss of eight of its commanders and forces following the Israeli assault in the Bekaa region.
