Israeli Police Arrest Religious Student for Threatening Message Against Netanyahu
Israeli law enforcement apprehended a religious student last month for allegedly sending a threatening text concerning Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to reports from the Israeli newspaper the Times of Israel the message was directed towards the leader of the opposition parties in Israel.
In the controversial text the individual posed a chilling question suggesting “What if something were to happen to Yariv Levin (Israel’s Minister of Justice) or even Netanyahu?” This alarming statement raised serious concerns about the safety of prominent political figures.
Following his identification at a gas station the suspect was taken into custody. During subsequent interrogations he denied any intent to act on his threats insisting that his words were not meant to incite violence.
