Revelations of Cover-up in Tel Aviv: Identity of Young Victim’s Killer Concealed

A recent report by the Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz has unveiled efforts by occupying authorities in Tel Aviv to obscure the identity of the individual responsible for the death of Nasrallah Abu Siyam. This young man was killed on February 18 during a joint assault by settlers and the occupying army on the village of Makhmas located in the northeastern region of Jerusalem.

According to the findings both the army and police of the Israeli regime delayed the initiation of an investigation into this incident for two weeks citing disputes over jurisdictional responsibilities. Ultimately the military concluded its investigation by asserting that the young man was not shot by its soldiers.

Meanwhile the police refrained from reopening their case claiming uncertainty regarding the identity of the shooter—whether military personnel reservist or settler—until the army’s report was finalized. Observers view this as a deliberate attempt to exonerate those responsible for this tragic event.
