According to international news reports, the latest survey indicates an unprecedented balance in American empathy towards Middle Eastern issues. Notably, 41% of respondents report feeling more aligned with the Palestinian cause, while 36% express greater sympathy for Israel. This marks a significant change, as for decades, Israel has enjoyed a dominant position in American public opinion. The new findings suggest that this shift in perspective is primarily driven by the younger generation.Among individuals aged 18 to 34 a striking 53% identify with Palestinians marking the first time this viewpoint has reached a majority. In contrast only 23% of this demographic report feeling more sympathetic towards Israelis representing the lowest recorded level to date.
