International Organizations Withdraw from Gaza Amid Escalating Humanitarian Crisis

Gaza, long subjected to a severe blockade and stringent restrictions, is now grappling with a new humanitarian crisis. According to a report by Al Jazeera, 57 international staff members have been compelled to leave the region after their work permits expired, with no extensions granted by Israeli authorities.

Furthermore, the operations of 37 international organizations have significantly diminished, leaving no opportunity for the replacement of absent personnel. Notably, organizations such as Doctors Without Borders and Action Against Hunger, which have been pivotal in delivering medical and nutritional support in Gaza over recent months, are among those affected.

Claire Nicol, the representative of Doctors Without Borders, stated in an interview with Al Jazeera, “Even before these restrictions, we were only able to meet a fraction of the population’s needs, and now the situation is set to become drastically more critical.”
