Islamic Cooperation Organization Warns Against Escalating Tensions with Iran
The Islamic Cooperation Organization has issued a warning regarding the escalating tensions directed at Iran. In an extraordinary meeting the Executive Committee of the organization condemned the policies of settlement expansion and annexation in the West Bank expressing deep concern over the recent threats against the Islamic Republic of Iran. They characterized any resort to force against a sovereign nation as a blatant violation of international law.
This meeting underscored the necessity of implementing the plan proposed by Donald Trump the President of the United States and transitioning to the second phase which includes establishing a complete and permanent ceasefire and achieving the full withdrawal of Israeli forces. The committee emphasized the importance of Palestinian territorial unity.
In another section of the statement participants voiced serious concerns regarding the rising tensions and the intensification of confrontational rhetoric in the Middle East. This includes recent threats of force against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the provocative deployment of aggressive military forces. The statement reiterated that any threat or use of force against a sovereign state constitutes a clear violation of international law.
