According to reports from international news agencies, Zionist writer and activist Hen Mazzig stated that Israel’s global image is currently at its worst since the establishment of the state in 1948.
In an interview with Israel Hayom, Mazzig expressed concern that the Israeli cabinet and official entities lack a clear understanding of the severity of the situation.
He elaborated on the factors contributing to the diminishing international status of Israel, pointing to influential media and political figures such as Candace Owens, an American right-wing activist, and Tucker Carlson, a conservative American commentator, who recently engaged in discussions with Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Israel.During this interview, Huckabee made controversial remarks suggesting it is ‘acceptable’ for Israel to dominate all territories in the Middle East, referencing common biblical interpretations among Christian nationalists in the United States, which sparked widespread reactions.
Mazzig, the founder of the Tel Aviv Institute for Combating Anti-Semitism, emphasized that the repercussions of the events on October 7, 2023, have profoundly impacted global public opinion, leading to an unprecedented rise in anti-Jewish sentiments worldwide.
He noted that these developments affect not only the political standing of the Israeli regime but also the conditions of Jews living outside the occupied territories.Mazzig, who has actively campaigned against the ‘delegitimization of Israel’ on social media and international debates for over a decade, described the current climate as unprecedented in terms of the scope and intensity of criticism.
He also pointed to political shifts in the UK, indicating that even within the Conservative Party, critical voices and stricter stances against Israel are emerging, reflecting a significant change in the political atmosphere of the West.
Highlighting the war that began on October 7, 2023, Mazzig stated that this conflict, which lasted two years, has left deep impressions on global public perception. Reports indicate that over 72,000 Palestinians lost their lives, with more than 171,000 injured during this war.Despite a ceasefire agreement implemented in October 2025 the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains critical with extensive rebuilding of damaged infrastructure facing serious challenges.
Mazzig warned that if the current trend continues the divide between the Israeli regime and a significant portion of global public opinion will only deepen.
