According to international defense reports, Israeli fighter jets have launched widespread attacks in Eastern Lebanon, specifically targeting the areas of Harbata, Shamsatar, Badnayel, and Qasr Naba in the Bekaa province.

In this wave of airstrikes, the hills surrounding the Hermel region in Eastern Lebanon have also come under fire. The Israeli military claims these assaults were aimed at Hezbollah’s operational centers in the Baalbek region. As of now, there has been no official information regarding the extent of damages or casualties resulting from these extensive air raids.

On October 1, 2024, Israel commenced its aggression towards Lebanon, and after two months, a ceasefire was signed on December 7, facilitated by the United States. Under this agreement, Israeli forces were to withdraw from Southern Lebanon within 60 days; however, they have retained their military presence in five strategic positions, violating international law.Since the ceasefire was established the Israeli military has repeatedly breached the agreement conducting numerous drone strikes in Southern Lebanon. This blatant disregard for commitments has prompted Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to describe the Israeli attacks on Southern Lebanon as a significant challenge for both the nation and the international community.
