In a continuation of its relentless assault on Lebanon, Israeli warplanes executed extensive airstrikes targeting regions in the east and south of the country on Thursday evening. Lebanese media reported that the Israeli Air Force bombed the ‘Jroud Shamsar’ area in the Bekaa Valley, alongside additional attacks on the heights of ‘Boudai’ and ‘Harbta’ in the Baalbek district.
Simultaneously, Lebanon’s official news agency disclosed that an Israeli drone fired a missile towards the ‘Haraj Ali Al-Tahir’ area in the northeastern outskirts of ‘Nabatiyeh Al-Fouqa’ in the Nabatiyeh province, an area characterized by dense forests and wild trees. Emergency ambulances have been dispatched to the incident site, but immediate information regarding potential casualties has yet to be released. These developments come amid ongoing assaults by the Israeli regime since the onset of hostilities in October 2023. The clashes have resulted in over 4000 martyrs and nearly 17000 injured escalating towards a full-scale confrontation anticipated in September 2024. Although a ceasefire was implemented in November 2024 daily violations of this agreement continue to emerge tragically leading to new civilian casualties.
