In a bold move, the Israeli occupation regime has once again violated Syrian sovereignty by resuming its aggressive operations. On February 25, 2026, a military patrol made up of 13 armored vehicles entered the ‘Al-Kasarat’ area, situated between the villages of ‘Jabata al-Khashab’ and ‘Oufaniya’ in Quneitra province. The Israeli forces established a checkpoint at the entrance of the stone mines along the road leading to ‘Ain al-Baida’ in northern Quneitra, where they detained a Syrian citizen. This incursion highlights the ongoing transgressions by the Israeli regime against Syrian territory, demonstrating a blatant disregard for Syria’s national sovereignty. Notably, these actions continue despite a joint statement issued by the United States, Israel, and Syria earlier last month, which announced strategic agreements aimed at enhancing ‘security and stability’ between Tel Aviv and Damascus. The statement, released following a meeting in Paris, has failed to prevent further Israeli incursions into Syrian land. The weakness of the interim government in managing Syrian affairs has provided the Israeli regime with an opportunity to occupy strategic areas, plunder Syria’s natural resources, and harass its citizens. These actions not only represent a clear violation of Syria’s national sovereignty but also reflect the complete indifference of the international community to the rights of the Syrian people.
